Data Analyst
Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a suitably skilled Data Analyst to join their team. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with possible extensions thereafter. This role will be Flexible/Remote - must be available to attend client sites when required.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of 30.47 per hour based on an annualised salary of €55,644. You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.
Data analysis
- Data manipulation - extract data, perform data cleanse, transform data from various reporting sources in preparation for loading it into Power BI.
- Perform data accuracy checks to identify anomalies within data sets, and proactively report issues that are observed.
- Analyse data to identify patterns and insights that could impact business decisions.
- Drive improvement opportunities around the reporting.
- Develop data models for reporting.
- Provide ad hoc reporting around the metrics and stats as requested by senior management.
Power BI maintenance and development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create informative and interactive visualizations.
- Design, create and maintain data models in Power BI.
- Manage and secure Power BI datasets.
- Introduce process automation where applicable.
- Develop and draft standard operating procedures and guidelines associated with activates that are carried.
Communication and collaboration
- Work closely with team members within organization, at various levels to understand their needs and requirements associated with data presentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders involved in the reporting process.
- Communicate findings and recommendations.
- Identify issues, and propose robust solutions.
- Training delivery.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Power BI to connect, transform, and visualize data.
- Proficiency in Excel - knowledge of key functions, experience in data manipulation - organizing, cleansing, and transforming data, proficiency in using pivot tables and charts, understanding of data validation and formatting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify and correct inconsistent or missing data.
- Strong communication and data presentation skills to clearly present data findings to technical and non-technical audiences, at various seniority level within the organization.
- Problem-solving skills -identifying data issues and developing effective solutions.
- Working effectively with others in a team environment.
