Cardiac Physiologist - Mayo

Unijobs on behalf of our Public Sector Client is currently recruiting for a Cardiac Physiologist, Senior in the Mayo area. The position is to be filled ASAP. The working week will consist of 35 hours Monday - Friday. The salary ranges from €54,028 to €70,746. The contract is initially 3 months

Purpose of the Role

To manage and support the Cardiac Diagnostic Servicel, ensuring effective service delivery through diagnostic testing, supervision, and development of staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical/Technical

  • Perform and interpret ECGs, ambulatory ECG/BP, and event recorder monitoring
  • Conduct and report on trans-thoracic echocardiograms
  • Assist in advanced procedures (e.g. TEE, stress echo, pacemaker analysis)
  • Participate in patient preparation and in-patient testing
  • Maintain, calibrate, and manage equipment and stock
  • Support response to medical emergencies including cardiac resuscitation

Education & Training

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff and students
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • Participate in national/international accreditation and education programs

Management & Administration

  • Support service planning and audits
  • Supervise and coordinate team workflows
  • Maintain accurate records and statistics
  • Ensure adherence to policies and standards (HIQA, GDPR, health & safety)

Eligibility Criteria

Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

(a) Candidates must,

(i) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology

OR

(ii) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin)

OR

(iii) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology (IICMP).

OR

(iv) (a) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology

OR

(b) An equivalent scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiology as awarded in or before 2005 *(See Note 1)

AND

(v) Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years fulltime) relevant post qualification experience.

AND

(b) Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
